tenured.
I really really want to get a glimpse of the life of a tenured professor in a <top 30 school. Honest answers only. I imagine you have to publish at least one paper every couple of years to not become on a full teaching load.
How sweet is life? You get to have 3 months off in the summer, you get to be your own boss, you get to work from home, you get to have a decent salary with no pressures any more, you have a retirement fund, you get to take sabbatical and visiting positions...
This is how I imagine in it. Please serious answers only. i have published well, at a Fed, and thinking of going on a TT. I don't like the idea of having someone over my shoulder telling me what to do. Please tell me more about tenured life, and whether I should give up a comfy job for a TT, and the change to be tenured.
Thanks !!!
