Recent forum topics regarding how 'Clubby' the top journals are made me curious. Searching the UT Dallas / ASU Rankings I came across an unusual pattern for UC Irvine and the RFS during the years 2011-2014 when DH was executive editor:
The following are the rankings of UCI at top journals during 3 periods
2008-2010:
JF - Ranked 34
JFE - Ranked 59
RFS - Ranked 43
2011-2014: (DH Is RFS Executive editor)
JF - Ranked 51
JFE - Ranked 38
RFS - Ranked 12 ***!?****
2015-2017:
JF - Not ranked
JFE - Not ranked
RFS - Ranked 51
I haven't done the same for other top journals, but thought this was a peculiar pattern. Anybody know of similar patterns at other journals/schools?
