This applies to people in FINANCE and your "Street Credibility"

Many academics have suffered embarassment from being a "pretender" or a "wanna-be". Before you take it too far and become embarassed yourself, I will do you a favor and at least give you the basics of "Finance Prestige". Remember, some of the fastest ways directly to VHRM or HRM is to do well in IQ tests or problem solving interviews.

\[VHRM\]

Portfolio managers, traders, managing directors/VPs (pure investment banking), research analysts at large firms whose decisions move the market.

Companies include Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Bridgewater, PIMCO, Omega Advisors, Virtu Financial, Point72, etc.

\[HRM\]

Same as VHRM, but in a smaller more advisory setting with less direct decision making. I.e. tech sector analyst at a fund, research associates, quant programmers with freedom to research and suggest strategies

\[MRM\]

Mid-office roles including programming for attribution analysis, alpha breakdowns, etc. Sector allocation analysis, financial advisor, consulting type roles, i.e. Wilshire Associates.

\[LRM\]

Back office type roles or sales roles.

With this knowledge, you don't have to suffer embarrassment anymore!
